PUK president met US Ambassador to Iraq

SULAIMANI – (ESTA) Bafel Jalal Talabani، President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) met with Alina Romanowski، US Ambassador to Iraq، in Baghdad.

The meeting discussed the latest political، economic and security developments and emphasized the need for greater coordination and cooperation between the political forces and parties in order to overcome the problems and maintain stability in the country.

The meeting discussed the issues between Erbil and Baghdad، the entitlements of the Kurdistan financial rights and the issue of elections. PUK president said that, “the PUK’s efforts from the beginning were to protect the salaries of the Kurdistan Region employees and not mixed with political issues were finally by efforts of Iraq prime minister, the supreme court and Kurd’s friend this problem was solved.

“Our priority is to ensure a decent and dignified life for our people and we will make every effort to that end, we hope that everyone will work in the same spirit and serve the highest goals”. he spoke.

Regarding the elections in the Kurdistan Region, Bafel Jalal Talabani ، “We respect the decisions and committed to holding the elections on schedule، we want the process to be conducted in an immaculate manner and reflect the wishes of all parties”.
