PUK President reiterates his party’s endeavors to end Kurdistan-Baghdad disputes

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) President Bafel Talabani on Tuesday reiterated his party’s endeavors to end disputes between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad.

Earlier yesterday, PUK’s Talabani received Mohammed-Kazem Ale-Sagegh, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Iraq, in Sulaimani City, according to a release.

During the meeting, the pair highlighted improving relations between Iran and the Kurdistan Region, discussing the latest changes in the region.

They also stressed unifying efforts in order to address the current crises and problems.

Meanwhile, Talabani pointed out the ongoing disputes between the Kurdistan Region government and the Federal government in Baghdad.

“Our efforts continue to get through the current situation and we hope to find a permanent solution for the issues as soon as possible,” he said.

Talabani and the Ambassador also discussed Iran and the Kurdistan Region’s “historic” ties, stressing expanding trading exchanges between the two sides.
