PUK President stresses persisting National dialogue

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) President Bafel Talabani on Friday reiterated that their efforts to address Baghdad-Erbil disagreements will persist, and stressed persisting National dialogue. 

Earlier today, Talabani welcomed the leader of the Iraqi National Wisdom Movement (Hikma), Ammar Al-Hakim, in the Dabashan area of Sulaimani City.

In a meeting, the two sides discussed the latest political changes, stressing persisting national dialogue and constructive steps for the sake of the state’s stability and success in the government agenda, Talabani’s press office announced.

It also said that Talabani extended his words of gratitude for the Hikma leader’s enthusiasm to learn about Talabai’s health conditions.

Earlier on Thursday, Talabani announced that he had returned to Sulaimani from a trip abroad for medical purposes.

In the meantime, the two leaders discussed relationships between Erbil and Baghdad, and Talabani noted that their efforts to address Baghdad-Erbil disagreements will be persisted.

“Our goal is to construct a more stable and brighter future for our people,” Talabani said.

Earlier today amid making a visit to the tomb of the late Kurdish leader, President Mam Jalal Talabani, Hikma leader Ammar Al-Hakim stated that  “We want to discuss several important issues with the PUK.”
