SULAIMANI (ESTA) — President of the Kurdistan Region Nechirvan Barzani will visit Sulaimani Saturday to attend the funeral of victims of Thursday’s night gas explosion, Esta Media Network has learned.
According to information Esta has obtained President Barzani will be in Sulaimani shortly today, leading a delegation to attend the funeral of the victims who were killed in Sulaimani gas explosion.
Moreover, President Barzani will arrive at the scene via Sulaimani airport, and Kurdistan Commando Forces Military helicopters will escort him until he lands.
In the meantime, the Kurdistan Region Counter-Terrorism Group (CTG) vehicles will accompany them to the funeral.
A deadly gas explosion that resulted from an LPG cylinder on a house killed 15 members of one family in Sulaimani’s Kaziwa neighborhood while leaving 12 others injured.
The horrific blast also caused the structural collapse of their three-story house. This tragic incident was amid a family gathering in the evening hours for dinner.
