SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Deputy of the Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Qubad Talabani said “proud” on Thursday over passing the labor bill by the lawmakers inside the Kurdistan Region parliament.

“When I see there is a law that protects worker’s safety, provides further job opportunities, and protects child and woman rights, it makes me feel proud,” Talabani said in a message to the public.

“One of the priorities of my agenda; strengthening the private sector and providing further job opportunities in which the rights and privileges of workers are protected outside the public sector,” he added.

“I’m thrilled that the Kurdistan Region parliament passed the labor bill. It [the bill] has been established with the international measures in which the principles of human rights and equality are protected.”

“Congratulations to the Kurdistan Region workers,” Talabani continued.

The Kurdistan Region parliament on Wednesday during its spring session approved the labor bill with a majority of votes inside the chamber.
