Kurdistan Region logs 926 new COVID-19 cases, highest daily rise this year

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Kurdistan Region has recorded 926 new coronavirus cases in the space of 24 hours, the highest daily rise this year, the ministry of health said on Sunday.

In a statement, the ministry of health said it had registered 348 cases in Erbil, 335 in Sulaimani, 197 in Duhok, four in Halabja and 42 in Garmian.

The ministry added that 11 more patients had died from the virus in the past 24 hours, while 298 others had recovered.

The Kurdistan Region has recorded a total of 119,480 cases since the beginning of the pandemic, the ministry’s data showed. Death has reached 3,643.
