US calls on KRG to expedite Peshmerga reforms ASAP

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The United States on Wednesday called on the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) to resolve the issues inside the Ministry of Peshmerga.

KRG Deputy Prime Minister Qubad in Erbil received David Burger, the Deputy Chief of Mission at the United States Embassy in Baghdad.

In the meetings, the US diplomat called on the KRG to resolve the issues within Peshmerga Ministry as soon as possible.

Burger highlighted that the issues within the Peshmerga Ministry have direct links to the reform process.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Talabani stressed the importance of expediting resolving the issues within the Peshmerga Ministry to end the dangers that face the Ministry due to the tensions.

The Kurdish official has also warned that at this stage, the Kurdistan Region has faced serious dangers more than ever.
