SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Governor of Sulaimani Haval Abubakir paid a visit to Iranian Kurdistan on Sunday to participate in a conference on economy.

The governor will participate in the opening of several projects in the city of Sanandaj, including unveiling a statue made by artist Hadi Zya Adin.

Abubakir will also hold talks with his Sanandaj counterpart Murad Nia during his visit to the city to discuss ways on how the governorate of Sulaimani would deal with Mariwan-Baneh and Baneh-Qasri-e Shirin areas, which are two free industrial-economic projects on the Iranian border with the Kurdistan Region.

“We hope these steps in the framework of understanding between the provinces of Kurdistan and Sulaimani would continue,” Abubakir said.

“We hope peace and tranquility as well as trade exchange continue, as it was not halted even during the coronavirus outbreak,” he added.

The Sulaimani governor will attend Baneh Economic Conference in the province on Monday.
