SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Suspected Turkish bombardment in Mawat district in north of Sulaimani on Friday killed two civilians and left three injured, a local official told Esta.
The district’s mayor Kamaran Hassan said areas in the foothills of Asos mountain near Galala village came under bombardment.
The attack did cause five casualties which were civilians, he added, but also suspicious about whether it was a drone attack or fighter jets were involved.
It wasn’t clear who carried out the attack, but Turkey intermittently targets suspected positions of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in the Kurdistan Region.
