SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Officials from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) will meet at the Kurdistan Region Presidency’s building in Erbil on Monday, a source with knowledge of the meeting told Esta Media Network.

The source said a PUK delegation led by Co-leader Bafel Talabani would visit Erbil on Monday to meet with a KDP delegation headed by member of the party’s politburo Hoshyar Zerbari.

Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani, who is also KDP’s deputy leader, will attend the meeting, said the source, who spoke under condition of anonymity.

Both sides are expected to discuss the latest developments in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

On August 11, a delegation from the KDP politburo visited the PUK’s co-leader Talabani in Dukan resort, northwest of Sulaimani.

In July, a PUK delegation led by Talabani visited Erbil and met with the Kurdistan Region president and Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, who is also a member of the KDP Politburo.

Both parties agreed to continue to hold more meetings and to work together to find solutions for the current “hardships facing the people of the Kurdistan Region,” the Region’s presidency said in a statement.
