SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Four Katyusha rockets were launched at a Turkish military base in Bashiqa town on Friday, a local official said.

Mayor of Sheikhan sub-district Sardar Yahia said the rockets were fired toward Zelikan base where Turkish troops are stationed in Bashiqa at 09:00 p.m. on Friday.

Yahia further said the rockets were launched from Badush and Shalalat areas near Mosul.

“There were no casualties,” the mayor said, adding that the attack had cut off power supply to Hinjrik and Jimarash villages in the sub-district.

Around 600 Turkish troops are stationed at the base, supporting the Iraqi forces in the fight against Islamic State (ISIS) militants, according to Esta Media Network in the area.

In April, three rockets were launched at the base, killing a Turkish soldier and injuring a child.
