SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) President Bafel Talabani on Sunday extended his warmest congratulations to the Christian community on the occasion of Easter.
“On the occasion of Easter, I extend my warmest congratulations to our Christian brothers and sisters in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq,” Talabani in a statement said.
He also wished all Christians a peaceful, happy, and joyful holiday, adding, “The coexistence among different nations and religions has a long history in Kurdistan.”
He further called all sides to stay committed to preserving pluralism and the culture of tolerance and accpetance in Kurdistan, according to the statement.
