Kurdistan Region registers 494 new COVID-19 cases, 16 deaths

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Kurdistan Region has recorded 494 new cases of COVID-19 and 16 deaths in the past 24 hours, the ministry of health said on Saturday.

In a statement, the Region’s health ministry said 103 new infections were in Erbil, 79 in Sulaimani, 30 in Garmian, 263 in Duhok and 19 in Halabja.

The ministry further said three new deaths were registered in Erbil, five in Sulaimani, one in Raparin and seven in Duhok.

The ministry added that 514 more patients had recovered from the novel coronavirus in the previous 24 hours.

So far, the Kurdistan Region has recorded 49,628 cases, with 1,807 deaths and 31,672 recoveries, according to the ministry’s figures.
