The IHEC proposes a date for the parliamentary election in the Kurdistan Region

SULAIMANI – (ESTA) The Iraqi Independent High Election Commission (IHEC) has submitted a proposal to the Presidency of the Kurdistan Region to hold election on September 5.

In a letter issued to the Presidency of the Kurdistan Region on November 28, the head of the council of commissioners said that “the work was suspended due to the complaint of the Kurdistan prime minister, which led to the delay of the election.”.

He called on the Presidency of the Kurdistan Region to issue a decree to determine a new date for the parliamentary election and proposed September 5, 2024, as the day of the general election.
