The PUK president met with a delegation of the international coalition force

SULAIMANI – (ESTA) The commander-in-chief of the coalition forces in Iraq and Syria, US Army Maj. Gen. Joel Vowell, led a high-level delegation of international coalition forces that was received by Bafel Jalal Talabani, president of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.

Darbaz Kosrat Rasul, Head of the Relations Bureau, Aso Mamend, Member of the Political Bureau and Mark Straw, US Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, were present at the meeting. The unity of the Peshmerga forces and the most recent military and security events were examined.

During the meeting, the PUK president stressed the success of national efforts to maintain security and stability and said, “Our efforts to maintain stability in the country continue, and our work is aimed at removing the country from the unstable situation in the region. We are also coordinating with the forces and parties for this purpose, and we do not want our country to become an arena for resolving conflicts.”.

Regarding the organization of the Peshmerga forces and the success of their efforts, Bafel Talabani said, “We continue our efforts to achieve this lofty goal, and we want to build a strong national force on the basis of balance and equality. We reject any will outside of this intention, and we do not want party interests to be mixed with this national issue.”

In response, Maj. Gen. Joel Vowell thanked the PUK president for his assistance and coordination in resuming the duties and activities of the Ministry of Peshmerga and solving the problems of the Ministry.
