SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Secretary-General of the Islamic Da’wah Party, Nouri Al-Maliki, has congratulated the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) on the successful conclusion of their fifth party congress.
During the congress, Bafel Talabani was re-elected as the President of the PUK. This re-election has received praise from both Kurdish and Iraqi leaders.
In a message to Talabani, Maliki expressed his wishes for success in his duties and encouraged him to continue the legacy of his late father, Mam Jalal, in strengthening joint national work in Kurdistan and Iraq.
“I hope you succeed in your responsibilities by following the footsteps of the late Mam Jalal in Kurdistan and Iraq, in order to enhance our collective efforts,” Maliki said.
