SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Federal Investigation and Intelligence Agency (FIIA) has announced the apprehension of five individuals suspected of terrorism in Nineveh province.
According to a statement released on Wednesday, FIIA units in Nineveh successfully apprehended the suspects based on reliable intelligence regarding their presence in the region.
A team specializing in intelligence gathering and conducting necessary investigations was assembled. Through a meticulously planned operation, four individuals who were wanted by authorities were apprehended.
During the subsequent interrogations, the suspects openly confessed to their affiliation with the Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist organization, specifically within the self-proclaimed “Ain Jalut Division, Military Affairs, Dhat Al-Sawari Division, and Abd Allah bin Al-Zubayr Brigade and the Army of Al-Asraa.”
