Kurdistan calls on Estonia to further strengthen their ties

During the meeting with Pevkur, the Prime Minister and his Deputy Talabani touched upon the ways to enhance Kurdistan-Estonian ties, particularly in the fields of military and combating terror.

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Kurdistan Region Prime Minister and his Deputy Qubad Talabani received Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur on Wednesday.    

The Estonian Defense Minister who is in the Kurdistan Region capital, Erbil, met with Kurdish officials, including the President of the Region, the Prime Minister, and his Deputy Qubad Talabani.

During the meeting with Pevkur, the Prime Minister and his Deputy Talabani touched upon the ways to enhance Kurdistan-Estonian ties, particularly in the fields of military and combating terror.

In the meantime, Deputy Prime Minister Talabani highlighted the support offered by Estonia to the Kurdistan Region and Peshmerga during the fight against the Islamic State (ISIS) in recent years.

“Estonia’s support was not only military to the Kurdistan Region we also benefited the developed experience of Estonia, particularly in terms of digitizing the government,” Talabani said.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Prime Minister stated that they called on Estonia to further strengthen ties with Kurdistan in all aspects.
