Kurdistan Region reports 829 new coronavirus cases, 21 deaths

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Kurdistan Region reported 829 new cases of the novel coronavirus and 21 deaths on Monday, said the ministry of health.

The Region’s ministry of health said in a statement that it had recorded 337 cases, 84 in Sulaimani, 29 in Garmian, 352 in Duhok and 27 in Halabja.

The ministry further said it had registered seven deaths in Erbil, eight in Sulaimani and six in Duhok in the past 24 hours.

As many as 382 more patients had recovered from COVID-19 in the Region, the health ministry stated.

Up to 51,077 coronavirus cases have been logged in the Kurdistan Region so far, of which 1,847 died and 32,378 recovered, according to the health ministry.

Earlier on Monday, the Iraqi health ministry said it had recorded 3,808 COVID-19 cases, 65 deaths and 4,676 recoveries.

Iraq’s total number of infections reached 382,949, of which 312,158 recovered and 9,464 died, the Iraqi ministry said.
