Searching continues to retrieve body of tourist drowned in Dukan Lake

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Searching operations continue to retrieve the body of a tourist who drowned in Dukan Lake on Friday in northwestern Sulaimani province.

A young Arab tourist drowned after he tried to swim in the first largest lake of the Kurdistan Region.

Eyewitnesses said he had drowned after he ran out of energy to swim.

His body immediately vanished in the cold and deep water of the lake.

Local authorities launched massive search operations to retrieve the body. Special diving teams of the civil defense directorate deployed at the scene.

However, the body has not been found yet.
