SULAIMANI (ESTA) — At least three casualties were reported as a result of an armed clash between Kurdish Iranian fighters and Iran’s Revolutionary Guards on Friday, according to a watchdog report.
One Revolutionary Guard was killed and two others were injured as a result of the clash that occurred in the villages surrounding Rojhalat’s Marivan last night, the Hengaw organization for human rights said.
The Revolutionary Guards have also separately confirmed the event in a statement, including the death of its member, according to Hengaw.
The watchdog claimed that the Revolutionary Guards intentionally ignited fires in the mountains of the region, deliberately preventing local residents from entering the area to control the blaze.
