SULAIMANI (ESTA) — A fuel truck caught fire in the Tanjaro suburb of Sulaimani City on Saturday, resulting power outage in the area, as well as destroying dunums of land.

No casualties were reported in the incident.

The fire is believed erupted due to the truck’s technical failure while heading to an oil refinery.

The fire damaged dunums of agricultural lands in the vicinity of the incident.

Civil Defence teams have tackled the flame and launched investigations.

The blaze also destroyed several electric pillars, causing a power outage in several villages and factories around Tanjaro.

Authorities dispatched a service team from the Sulaimani Directorate of Electricity to repair the damaged sites as soon as possible to restore the power to the area.
