SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Kurdistan Region Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani received a letter from German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, wishing better Erbil-Baghdad relations.
In the letter, the German official wished Erbil-Baghdad relations to be reorganized on new trustworthy foundations, Talabani’s media office announced on Wednesday.
On Mar. 7, Baerbock made an official visit to Iraq including the Kurdistan Region, where she met with senior government officials.
The agenda of her visit was aimed at bolstering Iraq-Germany ties, specifically in the energy field.
Furthermore, the German foreign minister extended her gratitude for Deputy Priemer’s warm reception in the Kurdistan Region, Erbil, on Mar. 8.
The letter also indicated that Germany will remain committed to supporting the Kurdistan Region to protect the stability and provide welfare for the people.
Back then, Deputy Premier suggested the German diplomat benefit from the Kurdish youths’ capabilities to provide a brighter future to Kurdistan.
The German Foreign Minister expressed her support for the Deputy Premier’s viewpoint, according to the office.
The letter has also asked the Kurdistan Region to pay attention to climate change issues which is a big challenge for the future.
