Security service announces arrest of eight terrorists in Sulaimani

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Kurdistan Region Security Service announced on Monday it had arrested eight suspects in Sulaimani province on terrorism charges.

The Kurdish security service stated it had obtained information on the basis of intelligence and coordination about eight outlawed terrorists, in cooperation with Iraqi security agencies.

The suspects were charged per article 4 of terrorism laws. They had fled from southern provinces to Sulaimani province and positioned themselves there.

Operation Department of Sulaimani Asayish arrested the suspects after the consent of the determined judge to launch investigations and applying surveillance.

It also explained that part of the stated information is kept undisclosed to guard the investigations procedures, adding that all of the suspects have been handed to the judiciary.
