At least 395 people admitted to hospitals in Kurdistan due to dust storm

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — At least 395 people were admitted to hospitals the Kurdistan Region due to a dust storm hit the Region since Thursday.

In a statement, the general directorate of health in Erbil said 222 people have been admitted to hospitals in the province since Friday morning due to breathing difficulties.

Meanwhile, Esta Media Network reporter said as many as 162 people were admitted to hospitals in Duhok.

“Five of them have been hospitalized due to their unstable condition,” the reporter added.

Separately, the general directorate of Health in Sulaimani said 11 people were admitted to hospitals, including four children.

In Kirkuk, as many as 206 people visited the hospitals due to breathing issues, Esta Media Network in the city said.

Earlier on Friday, Minister of Health Saman Barzinji urged people to stay at home due to the dust storm, saying “wear masks hen you need to go out”.
