PUK President welcomes British Consul General in Sulaimani

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) President, Bafel Talabani, received the newly-appointed British Consul General in Kurdistan Region, in Sulaimani on Thursday.

The president’s media office said that Talabani welcomed, Rosy Cave, the new British Consul General, in Dabashan area.

In a meeting, Talabani wished all success for Cave, demanding her collaboration to enhance the bilateral relations, the office in a statement read.

In the meantime, the pair discussed the political situation of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region as well as the freedom of expression and combating terror, the office added in the statement.

Both sides stressed the integration of the efforts to protect the country’s stability and “healthy” governance.

Moreover, the President and the diplomat emphasized expanding Kurdistan-Britain support, according to the statement.
