SULAIMANI (ESTA) — At least eight vehicles were destroyed in the Kurdistan Region’s Sulaimani after a horrific traffic accident.
The accident occurred on the 60-meter road, where a truck transporting soil lost brakes and rammed into the other vehicles on the road.
“Initial investigations suggested that the truck lost brakes and resulted in the accident,” said a traffic police officer at the scene.
Saman Nadr, the spokesman for Sulaimani Health stated that five people were seriously injured as a result.
“Some of them are in critical health conditions,” he said.
Nadr also expected a rise in the casualties’ number as the emergency service rushed to the scene.
The accident slowed down traffic movement on the road, which serves as the City’s critical route.
