KRG’s ninth cabinet increased internet service speed: minister

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Internet service speed had been increased during the ninth cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), according to the minister of transport and communication on Tuesday.

“The price of internet service had been decreased by 20% during the cabinet,” said the KRG minister of transport and communication, Ano Jawhar.

“Since June 2020, we were able to speed up internet service by 100%,” he added.

He also took the credit for providing 5G internet service during the ninth cabinet of the KRG in the Region, adding that “For the first time we initiated the family package of the internet service in the Region.”

Back then,  in August last year, the Kurdistan Region Minister of Communications initiated the “Family package” for internet users which makes children unable to reach adult-contented websites.
