SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), Bafel Talabani, and the Head of Iraq’s al-Fatah alliance, Hadi al-Amiri, met in Baghdad on Friday, according to a statement.
Talabani and Amiri in a meeting touched upon the general situation of the country as well as security and economic issues, read a statement from Talabani’s office.
The meeting was also attended by the Iraqi Minister of Environment, Nzar Amedi, where all sides stressed preserving unity and coordination of the political parties for the sake of protecting stability and passing the obstacles, the office added.
Speaking about the rights and financial entitlements of the Kurdistan Region people Talabani said, “There is a national will to resolve Kurdistan-Baghdad issues on the foundation of the constitution.”
“For that reason, all parties must coordinate to mark the end of this issue and turn a new page in our political relations, working to achieve lofty goals, and constructing a brighter future,” he added.
Talabani who is in the Iraqi capital earlier met with head of Iraq’s National Wisdom Movement Ammar Al-Hakim.
Talabani stressed unifying the efforts to reach a “national” agreement regarding the Kurdistan Region’s share in the budget and providing the financial entitlements in the meeting with Hakim.
