SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) will always support its brother and sisters in Rojava to achieve their rights and demands, said President on Thursday.
Speaking about his recent visit to the western part of Kurdistan which is also known as Rojava in Syria, PUK President Bafel Talabani said “The PUK will always support its brother and sisters in Rojava to achieve their rights and demands through peaceful means.”
Talabani’s words came amid a meeting of the PUK leadership council in Sulaimani’s Dabashan area where they discussed PUK’s next year’s programs in political as well as the organizational struggle of the party, according to a statement.
Talabani was in Rojava in the past two days where he met with Mazloum Abdi, the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), in the city of Koabni.
Moreover, Talabani on Wednesday met with the co-leader of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), Salih Muslim and Asya Abdulla where they emphasized on “Unity of Kurds” in all parts of Kurdistan.
The President’s visit to Rojava was amid Turkey’s aerial offensives against the Kurdish groups in Rojava.
