Iraqi Parliament touches upon recent Iran’s recent attacks

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Iraqi parliament will convene on Saturday, putting the focus on the recent Iranian attacks on the Kurdistan Region. 

The lawmakers are set to convene, particularly to discuss the attacks from the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) on the Kurdistan Region.

In the last week, IRGC pounded the bases belonging the Kurdish Iranian opposition parties based in the Kurdistan Region with Kamkize drones and ballistic missiles.

It Killed 13 Kurdish dissidents with injuring 58, the Health Ministry of the Kurdistan Region confirmed.

The Revolutionary Guards, Iran’s elite military and security forces said after the attacks that they would continue targeting what it called “terrorists” in the region.

“This operation will continue with our full determination until the threat is effectively repelled, terrorist group bases are dismantled, and the authorities of the Kurdish region assume their obligations and responsibilities,” IRGC said.

Since then Iran has repeatedly carried out attacks, increasingly targeting the border areas of the Kurdistan Region.

The chamber will also give confidence to several new lawmakers, according to the agenda.
