Lack of fresh water in Erbil’s neighborhoods prompts outcry

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Lack of fresh water in Erbil’s Badawa and Farmanbaran neighborhoods prompted the public outcry on Monday, calling on authorities to tackle the crisis as soon as possible.

“It’s been two months since the last time that the government provided us with fresh water,” a resident of Farmanbaran neighborhood told Esta Media Network reporter.

“We have to buy freshwater on our own every day even though the water we buy is not clean. We have to go bring water in large plastic bottles.”

This outcry comes as earlier last night, the resident of Farmanbaran neighborhood blocked one of Erbil’s main routes for ten minutes, protesting against the lack of water.
