Kurdistan’s meteorology and seismology warns of severe dust storm

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Kurdistan Region’s general directorate of meteorology and seismology warned on Sunday that an intense dust storm will hit the Kurdistan Region on Monday.

The Region’s directorate said another wave of an intense sandstorm would cover Kurdistan’s provinces and it would last until Tuesday.

The source of the storm is originated in southeast of Iraq, it added.

Monday’s dust storm will be more intense due to excessive wind, as a result, the level of the dust will be different from one area to another, it said.

The Region has been hit by several dust storms in the past weeks, causing suspension of flights in Sulaimani province and the hospitalization of dozens of people in the other areas.
