Kurdistan Region presidency denies it asked U.N. Security Council to mediate between Erbil, Baghdad

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Kurdistan Region’s Presidency denied reports on Sunday that it had asked the U.N. Security Council to mediate between Erbil and Baghdad.

In a statement, the KRP media office said reports regarding a request from the president’s office to the U.N. Security Council to mediate between Erbil and Baghdad were “baseless and fabricated”.

“No such remarks or statements have been made by the Kurdistan Region presidency,” it added.
