13 people injured in explosion at steel factory in Sulaimani

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — At least 13 people were wounded in an explosion at a steel factory in Sulaimani province on Saturday, a health official said.

Spokesman of the directorate of civil defense Awat Ali told Esta Media Network that it was unclear what caused the blast at the factory in Tanjaro area in Sulaimani.

Meanwhile, spokesman of the health directorate Saman Sheikh Latif said 13 people were injured in the explosion.

“Two of the wounded are in an unstable condition,” he told Esta Media Network.

In December, a 45-year-old laborer was killed and another was injured after an explosion occurred at Kawrgosk steel factory in Erbil.

In April 2021, an explosion at Master Steel factory in Sulaimani killed a laborer and wounded three others.
