ISIS attacks village in Kirkuk, killing civilian – reporter

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — One person was killed in an Islamic State (ISIS) attack on a village in Kirkuk province on Saturday night, Esta Media Network reporter said.

The reporter in Kirkuk said the militants attacked Dukishman village in the sub-district of Rashad in the province late on Saturday.

One civilian was killed and another was wounded in the attack, he added.

“Another civilian was also kidnapped,” he continued, noting that Iraq’s federal police had arrived in the area.

Iraq declared victory over Islamic State in December 2017 but the militants have regrouped in the Hamrin mountain range which extends into the northern provinces – an area described by officials as a “triangle of death”.
