SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Kurdistan Region Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani on Wednesday discussed the latest political developments with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani.
Talabani in Sulaimani had received Sudani in the city of Sulaimani, according to a statement released by Talabani’s media office.
The two sides stressed the importance of commitment to address the issues constitutionally, it said in the statement.
Regarding the national budget law of 2023 which had been recently approved by the Iraqi Council of Ministers, the pair agreed that both the Federal and the Kurdistan Region governments should have the commitment to implement it.
They also agreed that no pretexts or obstacles are allowed before providing the financial entitlements, according to the statement.
“There is no other option except for the agreement for the sake of the public interest,” Talabani stated.
In his concluding remarks, Talabani thanked the Iraqi Prime Minister for his visit to Sulaimani, reiterating his support for Sudani and his cabinet, hoping to overcome the changes to better serve the people.
