PUK to work more to secure Kurdistan’s rights, financial entitlements: co-leader

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) Co-president Bafel Talabani said on Thursday that the party would work more to secure the Kurdistan Region’s rights and financial entitlements in Baghdad.

In a message on the occasion of New Year, Talabani hoped the year 2021 would be tranquil and peaceful for all people.

Talabani said the PUK had intensified efforts to improve the economic, health and security situation in the Region.

“Our priority is people’s salaries,” Talabani added.

“We will increase our efforts in talks with Baghdad to secure the rights and financial entitlements,” he stated.

He also called on all the parties in the Region to be united and supportive to take “Kurdistan to another new phase so that our people will have a better life”.

“We will protect our Kurdistan with the support of all the parties.”
