Kurdistan Region registers 838 new COVID-19 cases, 12 deaths

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Kurdistan Region has recorded 838 new cases of COVID-19 and 12 deaths in the past 24 hours, the ministry of health said on Saturday.

In a statement, the Region’s health ministry said 206 new infections were in Erbil, 252 in Sulaimani, 28 in Garmian, 333 in Duhok and 19 in Halabja.

The ministry further said one new death was registered in Erbil, three in Sulaimani and eight in Duhok.

The ministry added that 478 more patients had recovered from the novel coronavirus in the previous 24 hours.

So far, the Kurdistan Region has recorded 54,387 cases, with 1,949 deaths and 34,128 recoveries, according to the ministry’s figures.
