PUK in talks with partners to improve livings of Kurdistan Region’s people: co-leader

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Co-president of Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) Bafel Talabani said on Tuesday that the party is in continuous talks with partners to improve livings of the Kurdistan Region’s people.

Talabani met with British Consul-General in Erbil James Thornton in Sulaimani’s Dabashan area on Tuesday, according to a statement released by PUK co-leader’s office.

Both sides discussed the latest political, economic and security developments in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, the statement read.

They stressed on talks and understanding between the Iraqi and Kurdish political parties to resolve their issues, according to statement.

Talabani emphasized coordination and assistance of all parties to reach an agreement with the federal government over suspending issues and the Region’s financial entitlements, the statement said.

“People must not be a victim of political conflicts,” he said.

“To PUK, the improvement of people’s livings is before all the issues. We are in continuous talks with our partners for this issue so that we will able to make a decision about it with all sides’ endeavor,” Talabani added.
