Seven people injure during clashes between two families in Akre

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — At least seven people were injured in clashes between two families in Akre city of Duhok province on Monday, police said.

A police official in Akre told Esta Media Network that two families who were in lived in the same neighborhood engaged in clashes over land disputes.

At least seven people were injured from both sides, three of them were women, the police official said, adding that children were among the injuries as well.

He did not mention by what means they were fought but revealed that the police have detained 10 persons over that matter, while also launching investigations.

Family clash in the Kurdistan Region is a common issue, it occurs frequently mostly related to land or an old-rooted hostility between them. In some cases, the families were involved in armed confrontations.
