Kurdistan’s Asayish says it had arrested two ISIS suspects

“The suspects were wanted by courts in Iraq and they have fled from southern provinces to the Kurdistan Region to avoid prosecutions,” it added.

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Kurdistan security forces (Asayish) on Friday announced it had arrested two suspects on terror-related charges who belonged to the so-called Islamic State (ISIS) terror group.

“The security forces arrested two ISIS suspects after obtaining concrete intelligence information,” a statement released by the forces read.

“The suspects were wanted by courts in Iraq and they have fled from southern provinces to the Kurdistan Region to avoid prosecutions,” it added.

It further stated that the suspects are charged per Article 4 of terrorism laws and will be handed to the Iraqi judiciary following more investigations by the Asayish.
