SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Journalist Guhdar Zebari is expected to be released from prison on Wednesday, Esta Media Network has learned.
On February 16, 2021, a criminal court in the Kurdistan Region sentenced journalist Guhdar Zebari to six years imprisonment
Zebari was imprisoned on alleged charges of destabilizing the security and stability of the Kurdistan region.
He was first arrested by Kurdish security forces in October 2020 in Duhok. Zebari’s freedom comes as his prison sentence is set to be finished today.
