SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) would meet in the coming days, a Kurdish official on Thursday said.
Hamay Hama Saeed, a member of the PUK leadership council, said both PUK and KDP would meet to resolve the problems in the coming days, without further specifications.
Saeed also serves as Kurdistan Region Minister of Culture and Youths, his words came amid a press interview in Sulaimani where Thursday launched the fourth International Book Fair, and he attended there for its opening ceremony.
“PUK and the KDP have always had problems and issues regarding they to manage the Kurdistan Region. However all of them have been solved,” the official told the reporters.
“There are no problems that cannot be solved. We clearly looking at resolving the issues,” he added.
Answering a question made by a reporter regarding the Kurdistan Region parliamentary elections, the official restated PUK President Bafel Talabani’s words which he recently made, demanding the amendment of the electoral law to hold elections.
“Whenever the preparations have been done for elections, and voters list purging carried out as well as all elections-related issues solved, then we are [PUK] ready for elections.”
