SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The health directorate in Kirkuk removed the Kurdish language from the official documents according to the paper seen by Esta Media Network on Monday.
Previously, the official documents from the directorate were issued in both Arabic and Kurdish languages, as the formal languages of the state in the Iraqi constitution.
According to a decision that was issued in late July, the Kurdish language has been removed from the official documents of the Kirkuk health directorate and the decision was signed by the general director of health of the city Sabah Ali Namiq.
Article 4 of the constitution says, the Arabic and Kurdish languages are the two official languages of Iraq, and federal institutions shall use both languages in their official correspondence, even including the schools.
