SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Kirkuk confirmed the first case of Cholera said the directorate general of health in the city in a statement on Wednesday.
In a statement, the directorate general of Kirkuk’s health said, the test result of a suspicious citizen was confirmed as the first case of the Cholera epidemic in the city.
The statement further stated that the main symptoms of the infected are “diarrhea and vomiting”.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday the health officials in Sulaimani city warned about the epidemic breakout and said there is a high possibility of Cholera breakout after a massive amount of Diarrhea cases have been received at the city’s hospitals.
Cholera is an acute diarrheal illness caused by infection of the intestine with Vibrio cholera bacteria, People can get sick when they swallow food or water contaminated with cholera bacteria, The infection is often mild or without symptoms, but can sometimes be severe and life-threatening.
