SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Police in Erbil detained three suspects over stealing laptops from the U.N. headquarters in the city, authorities said on Tuesday.
Police spokesman Hogr Aziz told reporters that two cleaners worked at the United Nations headquarters had stolen 47 laptops from the U.N. stores in Erbil.
Aziz said police were informed by a security official at the U.N. headquarters of a case of robbery at their store in Erbil on Friday.
“The cleaners hid the laptops in dumpsters to take them out of the U.N. headquarters,” Aziz noted.
“They then sold the laptops to a person,” he added.
Police arrested three people including the cleaners on the case, he continued.
