Iraq says 3,204 more people infected with COVID-19

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iraq said on Saturday 3,204 more people had been infected with COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number to 449,153.

Iraqi Ministry of Health said in a statement that it had registered 1,268 new infections in Baghdad, 383 in Duhok, 330 in Erbil, 241 in Diyala, 209 in Wasit, 147 in Sulaimani, 138 in Nineveh and 132 in Basra.

The ministry further said 81 other cases were in Saladin, 62 in Dhi Qar, 35 in Najaf, 35 more in Maysan, another 35 in Anbar, 33 in Diwaniyah, 32 in Karbala, 23 in Kirkuk and 20 in Babil.

The Iraqi ministry added that 55 more patients had died from the virus, while 3,021 others had recovered.

Iraq’s death toll rose to 10,568, while total number of recoveries reached 378,209, according to the health ministry.
