“… We approved $585,240 funding for an autism centre in Erbil city – ensuring all children with autism receive the support needed,” Barzani said in a tweet on Friday (October 23).
The premier further said the KRG plans to invest in centers across the Kurdistan Region.
Up to 2,800 children have been diagnosed with autism in the Kurdistan Region, according to figures by the Kurdistan Autism Group. There are only three government centers for autistic children in the Region while there are 17 private centers.
