Four civilians killed in explosion in Makhmour: local official

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Four people were killed in an explosion in Makhmour in southwest of Erbil on Monday, a local official said.

Mayor of Makhmour district Rizgar Ismael told Esta Media Network that an improvised explosive device hit a vehicle carrying a number of civilians in Qaraji sub-district in Makhmour on Monday morning.

The explosion killed four civilians and wounded another, he said.

“A unit from the fifth intelligence regiment is at the scene and more details will be released after the preparation of a report,” Ismael added.
